As with every blog I've ever written, I come here to write a post without the slightest inkling of what I might say. Here's how it goes: I get on the internet, go to all the usual sites, get bored with them and then turn on Cubase to try to write some music. But the muse is gone today, so it's back to the internet. Then I remember I have a blog, and I go look at it. Then I look at Scott's blog. Then I read Scott's blog. Then I don't read anyone else's blog, because I don't like anyone else's blog. Then I think, "I should post something, it's been a while." After that, I go get a coke and start reading a book. BUT NOT TODAY - TODAY, WE POST!

I got an ipod. I love it, I recommend it to anyone. I got some quality headphones and I love them too, but they are huge. I feel dorky wearing them to work. I've got my "business casual" clothes on and these ridiculous headphones, taking the elevator up to the 7th floor, trying to pretend I don't have on giant headphones while the one other guy in the elevator tries to figure out what I'm listening to - I know he does. But he can't, because as I said they are quality headphones - they not only keep noise out, but they keep it in as well.

So then I get off the elevator and it's my floor so everyone knows me. And they look at the giant headphones and they are probably thinking "Oh I bet he thinks he's so cool with the enormous headphones" but really I don't feel cool, I feel dorky. Why can't you people just realize that I love music and I want to listen to it all the time! LAY OFF ME!

It's been a hardcore dryspell for finding REALLY good albums. I haven't fallen in love with an album since the Scott Crain recommended "Atticus Fault" of over a year ago. Although the Death Cab for Cutie album "Transatlanticism" came awfully close. Please mr. good album, find me soon. I'm tired of half-ass enjoying a few tracks from the new stuff I try out. At least I've found a few songs to love, and those will have to get me by until I can find a new album to have an affair with. If you need a fix as well, I recommend these:

A Skeleton of Something More - by Sleeping at Last
Tiny Vessels or Passenger Seat - Death Cab for Cutie
Butterflies and Hurricanes - Muse
Ambulance - Blur (be patient, it's a hard song to like but worth it)
Words - The Doves
Pounding - The Doves
The Shadowlands - Ryan Adams (tears your heart out and hopeful at the same time)
Chalkdust Torture - Phish (get the version from the album A Live One)

The louder you listen to these, the better they are.

Tune in next time for: Why "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" is the greatest film of all time, and "We'll have THREE chapters done by Christmas, Mr. Crain"
