Today Rob wrote:

Around 3AM today my mind wandered the aisles of poetry while I slept, pushing an old shopping cart with one broken wheel.

Around 4am today my mind found what is was looking for, perched high on a shelf, somewhere in the "home and garden" department. There were no employees around to helpfully lower it using tiny stepladders. There were no tall men around that my mind could stop to say "excuse me, sir?" So it reached up, stepped up and stood on the bottom shelf, but still couldn't reach. So it reached again, stepped up and stood on the second shelf and grasped the bottom of the item.

And as I woke at 4am, the poetry fell on me.

And as I woke at 4am, I was too lazy to get up and write it down. But I had to remember this somehow, so I used a mnemonic device, and pictured a series of images to help me remember each word.

But somewhere around 5am today, my treasured item fell out of my shopping cart. And as I woke today for good, all that was left in the cart was Al Roker, Chaps, a hip flask, two trowels, and a plastic flamingo.
